You're absolutely right, light plays a huge role in how colour behaves in a space, and it's something I always take into account during virtual consultations. Knowing the aspect of a room is a great starting point, but I also talk in depth with clients about how the natural light changes throughout the day, what kind of artificial lighting is used, and how and when they use the room. Every space is unique, and two rooms with the same orientation can still feel completely different!
I also think having a strong understanding of how colour reacts in different conditions, as well as being really familiar with specific paint ranges, is so important :)
